Crazy Rats from Hell is an isometric retro DOS 386+ action game. Free 2026 demo v0.18 includes one complete level: 12 connected rooms and 60 mutant rats.

Choose Jerry or Bobby, both playable with their own eight-direction animations. Collect ammunition, health bottles and grenades, jump across acid streams and clear all rats. Follow the EXIT indicator to the unlocked doorway.

New in v0.18: playable Bobby and larger, longer grenade explosions with an expanding ground shockwave and a brief screen flash. Includes automatic aiming, running, jumping, animated character selection, Cindy's introduction, AdLib music and a three-voice sound mixer.

DOSBox required on modern computers; emulator not included. Extract the ZIP. Windows: run PLAY-WINDOWS.BAT with DOSBox in PATH. Linux: bash play.sh. English README.txt includes requirements, setup and keyboard controls. Recommended DOSBox setup: 8 MB RAM, XMS enabled, fixed 10000 cycles and Sound Blaster. Physical hardware performance has not been verified.
